The Sport Utility Hybrid Truck Mitsubishi Concept GR-HEV is powered by a 2.5-liter diesel engine teamed with a front-mounted electric motor. The power unit is mated to an automatic transmission and a full-time four-wheel-drive system. The Hybrid (HEV) technology is applied for the first time to a one-tonne pickup truck.
The Asian car maker Mitsubishi Motors Corporation demonstrates successfully how hybrid technology works on a muscle vehicle. The concept is cheaper than an electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle.
The GR-HEV also is fitted with a brand’s full-time 4WD technology, including Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC) integrated vehicle dynamics control system driveline to deliver high stability traction and driving performance under all road conditions.
