The six-wheeler Covini C6W Spider is one of the most extraordinary car concepts. The inventor of vehicle`s philosophy was Ferruccio Covini.
Unique car design
The extra wheels benefit the vehicle control, while front disc brakes ensure a greater braking surface. Inventors of the Covini C6W Spider claim that occupants are able to enjoy greater comfort thanks to the more evenly distributed reaction forces in the suspension.
The architecture of the Covini C6W Spider is based on chassis made out of steel tubular with carbon fibre reinforcements and structural parts. The unique car is fitted with 16in front wheels with 215/45-16 tyres and 20in rear wheels with 345/25-20 tyres. The car also features sexy dimensions: length 4180mm; width 1990mm; height 1080mm; wheelbase 2230mm/2750mm.
The car is powered by a 8 cylinder naturally aspirated, petrol direct injection Bosch-motronic engine. It is mated to a mechanical 6-speed manual transmission and an electro-hydraulic steering wheel mounted servo. The drivetrain capacity is 4200 cc. The maximum power is 380 PS (260KW) at 6400 rpm. The maximum torque is about 450 Nm (45.9 Kgm) at 2700 rpm. The concept reaches maximum speed of 300 km/h (185mph).
